Water Cooperation Quotient: water, peace and conflict

Water Cooperation Quotient: water, peace and conflict

There is a growing worldwide interest in promoting trans-boundary water cooperation but the question is how to drive political will to make real difference to the life of people living in shared basins. The Water Cooperation Quotient 2017, by the Strategic Foresight Group, demonstrates how the riparian countries sharing water resources can enhance mutual cooperation in a phased manner. It reveals strong correlation between active water cooperation and reduction in the risk of war, proving that any two countries engaged in active water cooperation do not go to war for any reason. The conference will present water and peace linkage and concrete policy proposals resulting from the Water Cooperation Quotient.
