Food and nutrition security and sustainable agriculture are among the EU’s top development priorities for the period of 2015–2020.
The EU is gathering top development policy leaders and experts to discuss 4 key areas of food security: innovation, nutrition, resilience and financing on 25 April in Brussels Palais d'Egmont.
Top development policy leaders and experts such as Commissioner for International Cooperation & Development Neven Mimica, Director General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, Monique Pariat, UNSG Special Adviser on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development David Nabarro and Côte d'Ivoire African Business Women of the Year Marie Konate will discuss 4 key areas of food security:
- Resilience to global food crises – the example of El Niño in 2016
- Addressing the governance and accountability gap in nutrition
- Innovation and Research for Development
- Innovative financing in agriculture.
