Green city policies and urban actions

Green city policies and urban actions

Cities are the major contributors to CO2 emissions and although they cover less than 2 per cent of the earth’s surface, they consume 78 per cent of the world’s energy and produce more than 60% of all carbon dioxide and significant amounts of other greenhouse gas emissions.

City has to be regarded as a “micro cosmo” where all climate change features and phenomena can happen, result oriented actions can be tested and where easier solutions can be worked out and best practices can be applied due it dimension.
