Digitalisation for Development: Benefits for Farmer’s Organisations

Digitalisation for Development: Benefits for Farmer’s Organisations

The Pan African Farmers Organisation (PAFO), the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and AgriCord (International alliance of agri-agencies) have engaged in a joint project to improve the efficiency of farmer’s led enterprises and hence improve productivity, market access and livelihoods for smallholder farmers. Digitalisation offers new opportunities to farmer’s organisations and their members and provides them with cost-effective tools to strengthen their production and marketing capacities. Within this partnership, a series of successful cases from farmers associations and businesses which were supported with the digitalisation of their businesses and in particular profiling their members will be shared. Some experiences across Africa will be discussed and driver of success of interest to other groups highlighted.
