The objectives pursued by the programme are to support ASEAN regional integration, sustainable and inclusive economic growth through trade facilitation, improvement of an enabling business and investment environment, as well as promoting investments in the areas of environment, energy, sustainable urban develpment, transport and social infrastructure and provate sector development.

Attracting more European companies to Ethiopia is the objective of the EU-Ethiopia Business Forum 2019, which will take place in Brussels on May 14 and 15.  With the Forum, the European Commission shows its support for the Ethiopian economic reform agenda and its commitment to the Africa-Europe Alliance. Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the European Commission and responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, will provide a keynote address to the Forum.
The Commission’s Director-General for International Cooperation and Development, Stefano Manservisi, arrives in Cuba today to co-chair the first EU-Cuba Sustainable Development Dialogue. The dialogue will take stock of the progress towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals in Cuba and the EU.
