Public finance and macroeconomy

The project Strengthening Public Finance Management (PFM) and Governance in the Pacific defines the first specific objective Transparent and Effective Policies and PFM, Data and Statistics under the third priority area of the Pacific Regional Indicative Programme 2014-2020 Inclusive and Accountable Governance. The implementation of the regional programme is being overseen by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), which is the Duly Mandated Regional Organisation (DMRO) for the resources of the European Development Fund (EDF) in the region.
The objectives pursued by the programme are to contribute to the consolidation of democracy ensuring an inclusive, rights based society and an efficient and transparent administration.
The objectives pursued by the programme are to support the Royal Government of Cambodia in their reforms in the area of fisheries and public financial management.
The objectives pursued by the programme are to contribute to sustained and equitable socio-economic growth in Bangladesh.
The objectives pursued by the Annual Action Programme are to equitably enhance the education and skills base among Myanmar/Burma youth.
The Annual Action Programme 2017 in favour of Uganda (with an EDF contribution of EUR 66 million) encompasses one action.
The objectives pursued by the programme are i) to generate improved economic, social, health and environmental benefits for Pacific ACP states arising from stronger regional economic integration and the sustainable management of natural ressources and the environment, and ii) to improve economic, governance and environmental performance of Pacific ACP states. 
The EU supported the implementation of the Enabling Competitive Business (ECB) Strategy to assist the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to bolster the country's business and investment climate
The objectives pursued by the programme are to support the Governement of Afghanistan to i) improve service delivery to Afghan citizens through legitimate and effective institutions and processes, ii) enhance the social and economic development of rural communities and reduce hunger and vulnerability, iii) improve access to justice for all and ensure judicial integrity and independence through empowered, effective and transparent justice institutions.
Under the Enabling Competitive Business Strategy, support was given to promising projects with export potential in the creative, culture and food processing sectors. The Tobago Good Foods project promoted food from producers that practice good agricultural and processing practices that respect the environment and promoted community and sustainable development.
