This programme's main objective is to improve the economic, social and environmental benefits of 15 Pacific ACP states. This will be achieved by strengthening the regional economic integration and the sustainable management of natural resources. The specific outcome of the programme is to achieve food security and economic growth, while addressing climate change resilience and conservation of marine biodiversity.
The northeast of Brazil is one of the country’s poorest regions. The population suffers from recurrent droughts and lack of access to water sources and technology. Adaptive technology during periods of droughts is crucial for their survival.  Sharing of experiences and best practices among women groups in a solidary and cooperative way is increasing their political and economic empowerment.

The Cabo Verde Investment Forum 2019 starts today. The three-day high-level business event will provide an opportunity to promote investment opportunities and mobilise financial resources for projects that will create jobs and support sustainable growth. The EU has provided technical assistance for this event.
DEVCO and the International Labour Organization’s International Training Centre (ITCILO) recently organised a training to strengthen EU staffs’ capacities to promote the creation of more inclusive and decent employment, particularly for youth. The recent training, ‘Creating more and better jobs for youth’, was held over 5 days in Brussels for EU staff at both HQ and EU Delegation level. 
For World Day against Child Labour on 12 June, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) jointly organised a conference followed by an interactive workshop: United to end child labour in agriculture.
