Following up on the Joint Communication on the Central Mediterranean Route and the Malta Declaration, the EU Trust Fund for Africa upon proposal from the European Commission, adopted today a €90 million programme to step up the protection of migrants and reinforce migration management in Libya.
This Action Fiche captures the interventions in Libya committed in April 2017 under the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for stability and addressing root causes of irregular migration and displaced persons in Africa (i.e. 'Trust Fund').
With support from the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa and as part of the Migrant Response and Resource Mechanism (MRRM), IOM Niger is launching 20 community-based reintegration projects for over 3,000 returning migrants in five of the primary countries of origin – Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Guinea Conakry and Cameroon.
