This project aims at increasing sanitation coverage through basic sanitation infrastructure and hygiene promotion. It also aims at improving the living conditions of people in 6 low income and peri-urban areas in Mzuzu City and improve the delivery of sanitation and hygiene services. The total amount of the project is €1 662 543 of which the EU is contributing €1 246 907. EU interventions in Malawi on Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Waste Management add up to almost €45 Million since 2006, making the EU a key donor in the sector for the country.
This €1,6 M project aims to increase sanitation coverage through basic sanitation infrastructure and hygiene promotion. It also aims at improving the living conditions of people in 6 low income and peri-urban areas in Mzuzu City and improve the delivery of sanitation and hygiene services.
This project aims to contribute towards increased enrolment, retention and completion rates in secondary school particularly for female and other vulnerable students (OV). The project is mobilizing, establishing and training community structures to support girls education, in particular those who dropped out of school. Among the structures that have been established are; Mother groups, Area and Village Development Committees, Male Champions etc.

Development of the cotton value chain in Zambia
The Malawi Government's Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare in conjunction with UNFPA implemented the Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) project. As the name suggests, GEWE aimed to promote gender equality and women empowerment with support from state and non-state institutions to accelerate attainment of national development. The project started in 2012 and targeted vulnerable groups, mainly survivors of gender based violence, people living with HIV and AIDS as well as girls who dropped out of school because of gender or poverty related reasons.
The project pursues the general objective of achieving universal primary education in Zambia.
The overall objective of this action is to contribute to achieve universal primary education (UPE) in Zambia. The specific objective aims to improve the provision of quality education services in 26 community schools in Chipangali constiuency, district of Chipata, facilitating coordination and advocacy mechanisms at district and province levels.   Some of the prime targets of the ACRA/PAF project include:- Training 104 Volunteer Community School Teachers in 26 Community Schools (CSs) in pedagogical methodology so as to improve their lesson delivery skills.
