The project focused on improving the response to and prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) cases by improving mechanisms, providing quality services and reporting. The project targeted its activities towards the most relevant stakeholders - general public to raise awareness on their rights and responsibilities and on available services; service providers that are responsible for handling CSA cases; traditional leaders, Village Child Protection Committees and policy makers.
This project aims to increase and deepen civil society organisations' engagement in human rights and democracy in Botswana and to channel this engagement into concrete action. Five designated rural communities benefit from an enabling environment where the rights of all its people including populations most at risk (LGBTI, women and children) are protected and respected without prejudice and where services and justice are accessible to all.
To mark the 16 days of activism, the National Museum hosted a photo exhibition depicting gender based violence experiences by women as a strategy to raise awareness to a target audience not normally reached by the usual sensitization activities. The photo-journalist Fifi Monosi facilitated discussions and KSWS disseminated information on gender based violence, statistics on Gender-based violence (GBV) as well as referral points for GBV related issues beyond KSWS scope of work.
The overall objective of the Private Sector Development Programme is to contribute to economic growth, employment creation and diversification resulting in the reduction of poverty. The specific objectives of the project are to:
''The WED programme is basically what jump started my career in fashion design. Since I did not go to school for fashion design, it created a platform where I learnt about the industry. I really appreciated the capacity building that we had to go through because some of them were tailored to what we do, even the people who were brought in came in with a lot of experience so for me this was a perfect experience. The programme helped me to start thinking of my passion as a business."
The overall objective of this project is to contribute towards improved nutritional status of rural households sin Malawi. It is expected to Strength the capacity of rural households and District level staff in addressing nutrition issues related to agriculture. The project is being implemented in Lilongwe, Salima, Nkhotakota, and Dowa Districts.
