The EU-ASEAN Road Transport workshop on Road Safety took place in Brussels from 30 January to 1 February 2019, hosted by the European Commission Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO). The workshop was the first meeting organised between the EU and ASEAN, intended to reach a better understanding of each region’s specific policies and strategies in the road transport sector, as well as tackle key challenges for road safety.

The purpose of the Global Programme to support Agricultural Research for Development - GPARD - is to promote agricultural innovation for smallholder farmers in developing countries in order to improve their food security, enhance adaptation to climate change and strengthen economic development. The (SAF-BIN) programme to collaborate with scientists, researchers, students, local agricultural and extension officials for developing innovative farming solutions and improving food security.

Last week, Director-General Manservisi travelled to the Republic of India (8-10 January) and the Kingdom of Bhutan (11-12 January) for bilateral consultations, the promotion of partnerships for global development and strengthening EU engagement in and with Central and South Asia in the coming years.
On 12 December 2018, the ASEAN-EU Dialogue on Safe Labour Migration: 'ASEAN and EU Labour Mobility - Sharing experiences and lessons learnt', took place in conjunction with the Launching Ceremony of the ASEAN Safe Migration Campaign at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
