EURAXESS: Your gateway to research jobs in Europe
Looking for a research job? Or perhaps you’re a researcher considering a move within the European Union and need practical advice on how to get started? With over 4 000 research jobs and a plethora of information, EURAXESS could be just the resource you’re looking for.
EURAXESS, just like EURES, is a web portal provided by the European Commission to support mobility. But EURAXESS differs in that it provides access to jobs and information only for researchers.
The web portal is a one-stop shop of information on legal and practical matters such as information on accommodation, taxation, social security and healthcare to help you when considering a move to another country within Europe. If you are a researcher from outside Europe, you can also find help and advice on visa applications and work permits.
And if you can’t find what you are looking for on the web portal you can always contact one of the 200 centres located in 37 countries in the EURAXESS Services section, where a team of well-informed staff will try to answer your questions.
The EURAXESS Rights section of the web portal provides you with all you need to know about employment and working conditions for researchers in Europe. You can even find out more about your rights in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct aimed at those recruiting researchers.
For European researchers living outside Europe, EURAXESS Links section provides a useful networking tool with information on European research policy, opportunities for research funding, for international collaboration and for trans-national mobility.
But it doesn’t just contain information. Over 6 070 organisations are registered on EURAXESS and what’s more you can browse a list of funding opportunities and over 4 000 research job vacancies. If you don’t find the job you’re looking for you can register your curriculum vitae (CV) and increase your chances of finding a job in the future.
The web portal and the personalised assistance provided in the network of centres are all free of charge. EURAXESS removes the red tape making it easier to find research jobs in Europe.
