EURES helps young people find seasonal work in Italy

The idea of getting a job while discovering another country’s coastline seemed an attractive proposition for jobseekers from Czech Republic.

Helping young people to find work abroad, the collaboration between EURES Czech Republic and seasonal travel company Wintour began in 2008 and has been strengthened since 2010, with the assistance of EURES Adviser Andrea Vega. Following the cooperation, a new recruitment event for Wintour is expected to take place in Prague on 25 and 26 of March this year.

Wintour was founded in 2003, with its headquarters in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. It guarantees hotel and camping accommodation services on the Adriatic, the Ligurian and the Mediterranean Sea coasts. In Czech Republic, the company recruited a number of sports coaches and children’s entertainers for work in a number of Italian resorts.

According to Andrea, “the company has promised to extend the number of vacancies and has opened different job categories to include lifeguards, receptionists and waiters”.

EURES Czech Republic has been cooperating with Wintour by taking part in the initial phase of the selection process. “We collaborate closely with the representative of Wintour before the onsite selection takes place, assisting in the publication of the vacancies on the EURES portal, social media and through public employment services,” explains Andrea.

Furthermore, tracking CVs, providing feedback on how many applicants have registered and renting a venue for the recruitment event are just some of the other tasks performed by EURES.

Vacancies, to be filled between March and April 2013, are already open for receptionists and entertainers. The duration of contract agreements ranges from a minimum working period of two consecutive months and a maximum of six months, between April and September.
