Short Description
Almost 550 000 people are employed in the region, which includes North, East and South Tyrol and the Canton of Grisons. In this region, approx. 1 700 crossborder workers and some 4 000 young people are enrolled in a course in a neighbouring country, a high figure compared with other EURES border regions.
The framework conditions for crossborder cooperation between the employment services and the employers’ organisations of the Tyrol and South Tyrol were signed in 1997 and renewed and extended to other organisations in May 2000. In November 2002, Grisons joined the EURES TransTirolia with the Kantonales Amt für Industrie, Gewerbe und Arbeit (KIGA) (Cantonal Office for Industry and Labour).
