  3. Cooperative Lilith

    Organisation

Lilith is a work and entrepreneurship cooperative for professionals working in the creative fields. It’s main aim is to bring services and benefits to its members by enabling them to focus on their creative skills. The members work widely in culture, arts, crafts, design, wellbeing, IT and communication. Through the wide palette of skills, the company offers expertise in large variety of creative professions. The cooperative was founded in 1996, in Finland. Instead of starting their own individual companies, a group of producers and musicians believed that a joint venture would bring them benefits in the longer run. They were pioneering the idea of a freelance artist being employed by the company. Soon enough, Lilith became a work and entrepreneurship cooperative. The cooperative form of enterprise has many benefits. It electrifies people to learn from each other, it encourages sharing and trust. It builds a sustainable working culture where everyone is an equal member in terms of social security, healthcare and pension. Together with it’s members, Lilith has developed a unique concept and a member service platform that enables the members to operate inside the company as employees, sub-companies, project managers and collaborators. In the long run, the concept creates better quality employment through managing the risks and sharing the benefits together.
