Come In is an European best practice project driven by GSM Training & Integration GmbH, which is a successfull private, state-approved vocational training service provider in Germany. This re-integrative measure is funded by ESF (Priority axis: “Improvement of access to labour market and social integration of discriminated people.”) and the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The project is under the Ministry of Labour, Social and Family Affairs and Integration (BASFI) in Hamburg.
The project is located in four places of Hamburg and increases the vocational integration of disaffected unemployed young adults between 18 and 25 years (NEETs). The target group has no or substandard school certification, and shows placement and integration constraints. These young adults couldn ́t be reached through traditional politically assisted measures for the labour market. Through the cooperation partner of the project, who are the Youth Employment Agency and the Job Center team.arbeit.hamburg of Hamburg (principle: One-Stop-Shop) the young people get access to Come In.
To increase their chances of integration into the labour market the project helps them to develop new professional perspectives and places the young people in jobs or vocational trainings or further school educations by reducing constraints and assessing their current skills and competencies. By giving them training, individual coaching and testing vocational fields in production school of co-operation partners it strengthens and stabilizes their self-confidence, character, and health and enables them develop a self-dependent lifestyle.
In addition Come In offers individual company and support, e.g. when looking for a new apartment, support through psychological counselling and control of debts as well as individual post-care.
The first project period was from 1 March 2009 to 31 December 2013. GSM Training & Integration won two extensions of the project from January 2014 to 31 December 2016 and the third one will be until the end of 2020.
