The 8th meeting of the Thematic Network on Youth Employment took place in Gdansk in Poland on 21st and 22nd of February 2018 and it was co-organized by the Polish Ministry of Economic Development.
The programme of this meeting was dedicated to the study visit of the innovative project that combines social activation of young people with entrepreneurship and it is based on the partnership with the city of Gdansk. The Foundation for Social Innovation links parental care with labour integration of vulnerable youth through its social economy projects in the field of hotel and gastronomy business. Participants of the meeting had the opportunity to experience Foundation’s socially engaging services by being accommodated in the socially responsible hotel ‘So Stay Hotel’.
At the meeting participants also learned about the Polish programmes supporting education and employment of youth that are funded by the European Social Fund, such as Voluntary Labour Corps, and about funding structures and activities of other network members (e.g. Bulgaria).
In Gdansk the members of the Thematic Network on Youth Employment contributed to the impact assessment of the learning outcomes of the ESF transnational cooperation by identifying national challenges for implementation of good practices that they have visited at several study visits organized by the network.
Next meeting will take place in Glasgow on 30th and 31st of May 2018.
