The 12th meeting of Thematic Network on Partnership was held on the second day of the joint meeting with Thematic Network on Public Administration and Governance in Zagreb. It was hosted by the Croatian Ministry of Labour and Pension System. At the meeting, a local project with a strong partnership component was presented – ZgActive Project. As this was the last network meeting under the contract of the ESF Transnational Platform, participants also had the opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the Thematic Network on Partnership.
On 24th and 25th April 2019, the ESF Transnational Thematic Network on Partnership and Thematic Network on Public Governance and Administration organised a joint meeting that addressed the topic of citizens’ participation in public governance and policy-making. The meeting was hosted by the Croatian Ministry of Labour and Pension System in Zagreb.
The meeting gave an opportunity to representatives of the ESF Managing Authorities to gain more knowledge on practices for the involvement of citizens, stakeholders and social partners in the design and implementation of national funding programmes. 4 good practices of citizens’ participation were presented at the meeting – Citizens Assemblies in Ireland, The Territorial Social Responsibility Methodology (REVES), Active Students (Croatia), and Local Agenda in Vysoćina Region (Czech Republic). A unique model of local civil-public partnership was presented with a study visit to POGON, Zagreb Centre for Independent Culture and Youth.
Through group discussions, participants were able to identify challenges to and opportunities for citizens’ participation in preparing the next period of the European Social Fund (the ESF+) and for better implementation of the European Code of Conduct on Partnership (the ECCP).
