ESF for Education: Danish students go digital for vocational skills

10/11/2020

The European Social Fund (ESF) is devoted to helping schools succeed during the current pandemic. Often, this requires a new, innovative look at how students can maintain their studies when class-based lessons are not possible.

Often, this requires a new, innovative look at how students can maintain their studies when class-based lessons are not possible.   Nearly €1.7million has been provided to support ‘Skills with Advantage’, a Denmark-based, vocational education project.

Vocational education often requires hands-on, practical lessons in a classroom or workshop setting.  The COVID-19 crisis therefore required instructors to find new ways to engage with students, including the addition of digital learning to compliment traditional learning methods.  ‘Skills with Advantage’ will allow hundreds of students to pursue vocational courses, with the goal of helping 450 people test online teaching methods, gain qualifications and find internships after their course.
