The ESF Improving Health Services and Access in the Regions
The health sector and public health policy play a fundamental role within the European Union context and across the Member States.
Investing in access to health has become even more important in the context of the fight against Covid-19 and the subsequent recovery efforts that will be needed.
The new page, recently published on the Open Data Platform
, shows how the European Social Fund (ESF) has been investing in health
. It provides an overview of the evolution of investments in the health sector
since 2014 through a comprehensive dataset.
Following the adoption of the Coronavirus Response Investment Initiative
in April 2020, health investments under cohesion policy are expected to increase. The page is intended to reflect the evolution of investments in this field, both in terms of progress of ESF financing and in terms of individuals who have benefitted from ESF health-related projects.
The data displayed in the charts can be also broken down by Member State and by programs within a specific country, thus giving a clear overview of the state of investments in health across the EU and how they will likely evolve.
