Estonia is making more ESF funding available for adult education and training
The Minister for Education and Research in Estonia has announced that some €500 000 is being earmarked for adult education and training. Around 2700 adults will have opportunities to attend training courses and classes in higher education institutions.
“Nearly a third of the Estonian working-age population lacks professional or higher education, limiting notably the productivity of the workforce. Thus the development of the Estonian economy depends directly on our capability to invest in providing training to adults,” said Minister Jevgeni Ossinovski. Since 2009, all over Estonia, some 35 000 adults have benefited from free vocational training opportunities in 28 job-related subject areas.
