The European Commission participated to the International Conference on Active Labour Market Policies organized by the Korean Employment Ministry and the Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Work-Net, the Korean online system for supporting jobseekers. The conference took place in Seoul on the 5 and 6 December 2018.
Experts from the EU, Switzerland, the United States of America, Australia, Korea and the OECD discussed about national and local employment and job creation policies and future-oriented and innovative employment services. KEIS presented to the audience its plan for a Job Data Dictionary classification and a standard Job Description Recommendations System.
In this context, the European Commission highlighted the impact of digital transformation on job and training matching in the labour market and promoted the EU goals of breaking data silos and avoiding data monopolisation in the digital labour market. As examples of innovative,future-looking employment tools, the Commission presented the details and structure, the functions and the current take-up of ESCO and the planned features of the new Europass.
