Europass²

In October 2016 the Commission adopted a proposal for a revision of the Europass framework. With this revision, the Commission aims to simplify and modernise its tools and services which support the transparency of skills and qualifications across the European Union. It would make them fit for the digital age and add a new feature using big data to map and anticipate labour market trends and skills needs.

In case the new Decision is adopted by the co-legislators, semantic assets such as ESCO can play an important role in implementing the new Europass framework.
