Oliver Dreute joined the EPSC in January 2017 as Adviser on the Multiannual Financial Framework.
Working on different posts in the European Parliament since 1995, he started his career dealing with External Trade and relations with the World Trade Organisation, further activities were Internal Market legislation, inter alia the Services Directive, Intellectual Property, including Copyright and European Patent, and Public Procurement. He dealt as well with the two reforms of the EU Staff Regulations 2004 and 2014, and the Statutes for Members of the European Parliament 2004 and for Parliamentary Assistants 2009. Oliver Dreute was part of the European Parliament’s team for supporting the European Parliament’s negotiators on the Inter-institutional Framework Agreement in 2010 and the Fiscal Compact in 2011/12.
In 2007 he became Legal Adviser and in 2009 Head of Unit for Legal and Home Affairs in the Group of the European People’s Party. In 2014 he entered the cabinet of the President of the European Parliament first as Legal adviser and Team Leader for the relations with the administration, then as Deputy Head of cabinet.
Oliver studied law at the University of Bonn.
