By adopting the Law on Adult Education in May 2013, Una-Sana Canton became the first canton in the Federation of B&H that legally recognised the field of adult education and started to regulate it. From then till now many significant moves forward have been taken and adult education has also practically become an equal part of the education system when it comes to this canton.

Support of DVV International to the institutions responsible for creating and implementing adult education policies continues in Sarajevo Canton too. Therefore, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Mr. Zineta Bogunić and the Director of DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Emir Avdagić, signed the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Adult Education on Friday, 26th of April.

The regular, 11th meeting of contact persons for adult education within relevant institutions was held on 11th and 12th of April in Brčko in organisation of DVV International and the Department for Education of the Government of District Brčko B&H.

The Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education has signed the Agreement on Research, Professional and Technical Cooperation with the Center for Vocational Education of Montenegro. The signing of the agreement is the result of many years of successful cooperation between the two institutions that have a key role in developing vocational and adult education in their countries.

The Agreement on Research, Professional and Technical Cooperation was signed during the study visit of the representatives of the Agency to Montenegro, realized on April 1-3, 2019.

 

Director of the DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Emir Avdagić held a meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Ms mr. Zineta Bogunić and the Assistant Minister for Secondary Education and Adult Education, Ms Lamija Husić.

The meeting was organised as a preparation for upcoming activities in improving adult education in Sarajevo Canton, and some of the key topics of discussion were:

On Thursday, 31st of January in Bihać, representatives of DVV International - Country Office B&H held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Una-Sana Canton headed by  Mr. Damir Omerdić.

The topic of the meeting was Implementation of upcoming activities in the field of adult education as a response to the current needs of the educational system and problems and challenges that the canton faces, with a particular focus on preventing malversations.

This-year's second meeting of contact persons for adult education took place in Mostar on 13th and 14th of December, and was organised by DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was hosted by the director of DVV International - Country Office B&H, Dr. Sc. Emir Avdagić, and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Dr. Sc. Rašid Hadžović.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Agency for Pre-Primary and Secondary Education held was a gala conference: ‘Building Quality Education Together‘ where presented were the Agency wide-ranging ten-year results and awarded were the letters of thanks to partners and associates. In addition to the Agency’s staff, the conference was attended by representatives of local and international organizations and institutions, relevant ministries of education and pedagogical institutes, the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Ambassador Bruce G.

Marloes Smit is working as an educational consultant at Libereaux in the Netherlands. Libereaux wants to empower people to take the next step in their career. Marloes supports higher vocational institutions with the flexibilization of their education and implements VPL at these institutions. Marloes is involved in the design, development and implementation of the e-portfolio system DITKANIK.NU (I Can Do This. Now).

Arising from a study stay to meet researchers and young researchers, this series of articles seeks to develop some surprises and considerations to be taken into account in vocational training issues and questions of professional learning, in and out of the workplace.

When arranging project cooperation or delivering training sessions, one of the important first steps is how to adjust expectations. We talk about what we can realize, the steps required and the implementation timeframes, we define responsibilities and the desired outcomes; we sometimes formalize these discussions into a written agreement that is also legally binding, such as agreements within Erasmus+ projects, and sometimes the result of our activities is consolidated through other forms of documents, such as Europass Mobility document.

In the period 1.06.2017 - 31.05.2018 our school SOU Gimnazija Koco Racin from Veles, Macedonia implemented Erasmus+ project in the Key action 1- School education staff mobility. The project title is "Becoming an International school with European standards and dimensions of education". In this blog we would like to share experience of the teachers who participated in the structured courses.
The EPALE CSS team attended the 50th EUCEN conference held in Bergen, Norway from 6–8 June 2018. The theme of the conference was 'Times of transition – the role of university lifelong learning'.
How can more European youths and adults achieve education and employment? Targeted guidance based on the principles of consequential pedagogy is the way forward. This is the belief of TAMU – Træningsskolens Arbejdsmarkedsuddannelser – who alongside three partner institutions in Norway and Sweden are in full swing developing a new innovative guidance concept with financial support from Erasmus+. A new book for teachers and counsellors is already available online.

They use the same competences during their day-to-day activities. Some of them are more competent than others for different reasons. How can they prove it easily?

AELP Annual Conference 2019 – Skills for better productivity and social mobility

The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) Conference 2019 will take place at the Park Plaza in London from 24 June to 25 June. Certification of education and training is not a new concept in Denmark or other countries, as several forms of certification and accreditation already exist, but certifying vocational courses offered via e-learning is a new development. In this context, e-learning is treated as an overarching term which encompasses blended learning as well as purely web-based learning (distance learning). The pilot certification scheme covers descriptions of the objectives, content and organisation of e-learning courses, taking into account the participants’ prior learning.

"The Cross Diagnostics system consists in analyzing the process of assessment and certification of learning outcomes of trades with SFMQ profiles in educational, vocational training and skills validation institutions. Cross-diagnoses do not focus on the education and training process.

EPALE National Support Service issues an electronic magazine each month tied to the thematic focus on EPALE. The magazine contains a selection of most read blogs on the platform translated into Serbian and other articles relevant to adult education in Serbia and Europe.

In accordance with the EPALE monthly focus the magazine in June 2018 dealt with Assessing adults’ skills.

Main purpose of the research demonstrated in this work is the determination of quality dimensions of professional trainings and profesional trainings quality organized by National Employment Service of Serbia. The quality is defined as the mismatch between the perceived and expected quality of various dimensions of training. The research is undertaken on the sample of 306 attendants. The obtained data are treated through factorial analysis and calculation of arithmetic middle for perceived and expected quality of training.

This paper elaborates upon the roles of person and personality of adult educators forming the practice of their field. Adult learning and education, for the last 200 years, have been heavily influenced by people with various approaches, mission and engagement towards their field of profession in evolution. The paper reflects to the model describing four types of classical routes and background of persons having influenced adult learning in various contexts of formal, non-formal and informal dimensions.

This document, by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), presents a framework (awards standards by NFQ Level) for English language teaching awards in the National Framework of Qualifications. Specifically, it targets awards for teaching programmes of education and training in English as a second or other language.
