With the aim of proving that being mentally retarded is not an obstacle to learn, handicrafts courses have been given to those who were directed to non-formal education because they have mild mental retardation by Canik District Directorate Of National Education, Canik Public Education Centre, and Special Education Job Application Center.

We need to take care of our disabled citizens and do our best to ensure that they participate in life.

We need to make their lives easier for them to actively participate in social life. As Edremit Public Education Center, we are involved in various social responsibility projects related to disabled citizens.

We visited the Special Education Practice Center for disabled students, with our participants who received education during the children's development course and had a nice day with our disabled children.

Gel candle course which is opened for handicapped in New life hospice by İpsala Public Education Center and Evening Art School, it really is creating a new life the individuals in the dispensary. Our course has been opened on September 26, 2018. Duration of the module is 376 hours. And the course will end on June 21, 2019.

There are some problems which come up with fast-developing urbanization,industrialization and population growth in our country. Traffic environment is one of those which is affected from this process. Traffic has a structure which includes the society’s all structures and institutions.At the same time, it has a structure which affects many areas of the society like economy and geography. Lack of information about the risks which may be encountered in traffic,lack of education about traffic,the problems in the formation of awareness raising about safe traffic increase the accidents. How could we solve the traffic problem and how could we manage to reduce their numbers to minimum? The most suitable answer to this question or the keyword is “Education”.
There is no doubt that ICTs allow members of the growing elderly population to remain independent longer. The ICT 4 the Elderly project aims to facilitate a pathway for up-skilling the digital competences of individuals between the age of 55 and 75 and to make them aware of some of the many opportunities that the Internet offers.

We want individuals with disabilities living in Bozüyük district to receive technology training individually or in groups. We have found that disabled citizens who do not leave home for long years in our area screening. We prepared trainings for these citizens to improve themselves in terms of basic computer literacy and internet use.
• To enable people with disabilities to meet with technology in a conscious way

    According to WHO, there are more than 360 million people with disabling hearing loss over the world, and 32 million of these are children and this number is increasing day by day and by 2050 it is estimated tha one in every ten will have this problem. In Turkey there are about 2,2 million deaf and dumb people. These people have difficulty in communicating, and expressing themselves  and understanding the others especially  in public places like hospitals, police stations etc... so the people working in such place must acquire sign language.

Pursaklar Public Education Center and Saray unobstructed life care and rehabilitation center in cooperation for individuals physical and mental disabilities. within various activities, they have fun as well as learn. On special days they are happy with exhibiting.

Contemporary education, the world of work, and career guidance and counseling as well, recognize different starting points, strengths and resources for different groups of people. As practitioners in these areas, it is evident that some clients have different problems to access the world of work and education. For example, some of them might have problems with physical or mental health or they are living in deprived and/or violent environment. We recognize that working with people from vulnerable groups requires specific education and specific programs of work. In the next lines we will present the key points that should be conisdered when it comes to planning and delivering career guidance services for adults from vulnerable groups.

Undoubtedly the internationalisation of labour markets more and more requires intercultural competences and foreign language skills. And as one of the most important learning environments for the enhancement of cross-cultural skills is working in a foreign country, - and precisely because of the current inclusion debate - it is indispensable for trainees of facilities for vocational rehabilitation to be able to make use of such learning opportunities.

People with severe and/or multiple disabilities are often left on the edges of our communities while their social inclusion and community participation remain unsatisfactorily resolved. The aim of the MINCE project is to improve the inclusion of people with severe disabilities in the community.

When sport and adult education are combined, great results can be achieved. This combination has been tested with refugees, prisoners, mentally handicapped people and senior citizens. Sport also proved a useful tool to work with adults with special needs. Being involved in a sport can improve the health, well-being and quality of life of any person with a disability.


In Sweden, children with disabilities in special schools officially and on the basis of the curriculum learn only what makes sense for future life, that is, what has practical and usable value in life. Some of the examples are the use of money and payment cards, nice dressing, food preparation, bedding, communication with the environment, use of telephone and the Internet ... Consequently, the lettering and numbers that are most often unreadable are avoided. For example, the goal of mathematics is to teach a child to dial the phone number of his parents.

Annual Social Policy Public Lecture - University College Dublin (UCD)

The School of Social Policy, Social Work & Social Justice at University College Dublin present their Annual Social Policy Public Lecture on the topic of "Poverty and Social Exclusion in the EU".

The lecture is being delivered by Professor Bea Cantillon, Professor of Social Policy & Director of the Herman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy, University of Antwerp.

The Green Kitchen Café & Garden Centre gives people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to fulfil their employment and career aspirations. The project supports people to realise their potential by providing targeted supports, training and work experience in hospitality and horticulture, ultimately leading to meaningful employment.

The Foundation Institute of Human Development (Poland) presents best practices for working after parenthood & disability and how to support immigrant workers (focus Ukraine) as part of the Women Return to Work Project. This was a two year project funded through Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for adult education.
