The European Basic Skills Network (EBSN) has announced that the first open educational resource (OER) of its Capacity Building Series has been published on EPALE. The OER is titled Integrated Policy Approach in Basic Skills Provision and it focuses on the policy level of basic skills provision with special attention on good practices in policy initiatives.
On 3 December, the tri-partite Advisory Committee on Vocational Training (ACVT) adopted unanimously an opinion on the future of vocational education and training after 2020.

Adult Education Centre in Ormož (Slovenia) is involved in Erasmus +, KA1 project entitled as "I Want More!". Within the framework of the project, which is aimed primarily at raising the competencies of our employees, we planned three mobilities. My goal was to get to exchange experiences with colleagues around Europe. As an adult education trainer from KSL Study Centre, I also wanted to improve myself and get new perspective to the main topic of the course: Communication Skills and Public Speaking.

Slovenian Third Age University is currently involved in SLIDE, Digital Story Telling in Digital Europe, an Erasmus+ EU project. The project is about narration, the art of story telling in the digital way. Basically, the project aims at augmenting adult educators’ ICT skills and introducing digitalized educational tasks into adult education programmes.
I had a great experience and will remember the week forever. I encourage all my colleagues to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity offered by our European community, to be open, share your experiences, and listen to and learn from others.
In October 2018, I took part in a course called Intercultural Communication in Education organised by DOREA, which was already familiar to me. A total of 12 participants from five countries met in Split, Croatia, under the theme of intercultural communication. The countries represented were Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Slovenia and Italy. Our instructor was Helen Callanan, who boasts a long international career and has worked all around the world as a consultant and instructor in intercultural communication, including in war zones and crisis situations.
As part of the Belfast Festival of Learning this seminar examined the impact of adult learning on wellbeing and work. Presentations from the University of East Anglia, Learning & Work Institute and Action Mental Health.
„Was hast Du mit Erwachsenenbildung zu tun?“ Das ist eine der häufigsten Fragen, die ich höre, wenn ich über meinen Beruf rede. Der zweite Satz, der mir oft verwundert entgegengebracht wird ist: Ach, DAS ist Erwachsenenbildung? Genau das ist der Grund, warum ich mich selber als EPALE Botschafter sehe.

In the paper, the author provides his opinion on the idea of Europe as a space for developing a European education policy that addresses common European issues. By using the concept of the Europeanisation of education as a methodological tool, emerging European adult education policy is analysed thoroughly. With its formation, adult education has markedly gained in importance and recognition, however it has primarily strengthened only the economic goals of adult education in the EU.

On 15–16 October in Budapest, Hungary, EPALE organised a pan-European conference with the slogan “Growing together: fostering an inspiring adult learning community”. The adult learning event gathered over 230 national government representatives, EPALE members, European stakeholders and representatives from the European Commission.
The EMPOWER Learning Hub is an online training programme developed by the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 EMPOWER project. The Hub's content is freely available to all and aimed at support workers (both professionals and volunteers) working with vulnerable women and women learners wishing to build their confidence and re(enter) the labour market.
This guide presents an overview of and recommendations from the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 EMPOWER project. It's a must-read for all policymakers and adult educators who currently support vulnerable women or wish to do so in the future.
