Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe

Second European-wide REVEAL survey addressing Erasmus+ KA1 providers and host organisations

Language: EN

International courses, job shadowing and other staff training opportunities are the cornerstones of European Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for educational staff within the Erasmus+ KA1 programme.

However, the KA1 programme is facing a number of challenges regarding accessibility of suitable courses and learning offers, quality control, competence validation and evidences of the impact of these CPD opportunities.

The REVEAL project aims to analyse the present situation on the basis of online surveys and interviews. Following this stocktaking phase, REVEAL will work on recommending and introducing instruments to support KA1 sending organisations, educational professionals in mobility and the hosting organisations and/or course providers.

REVEAL has developed two Europe-wide surveys addressing the central Erasmus+ KA1 stakeholders:

  • The sending organisations including their staff
  • The course/training providers and hosting organisations (of job-shadowing)

In May 2018, REVEAL has launched its first online questionnaire to explore the activities undertaken by the KA1 projects in the field of adult education. By now we received more than 300 filled questionnaires back from all European member states eligible under KA1. In this first survey we addressed KA1 project owners and participants in KA1 mobilities (courses and job-shadowing) to give us a feed-back on their experiences.

The interim results of the first REVEAL survey have shown that many sending organisations would appreciate support when searching for appropriate courses and job-shadowing opportunities. It also revealed that there are differences in the quality of the training offers and that validation of the learning outcomes and competence developments of professionals in mobility training is not yet common practice - despite the explicit descriptions in the KA1 project descriptions in connection with European development plans of the sending organisations.

As sending organisation and KA1 project owner you can still participate in this first survey. It is still open until 15th of October and we would still very much appreciate your contributions!

In the second survey which was launched on September 25th the REVEAL group aims to the course/training organisers and host organisations. We ask for your feedback on the KA1 system, about your experiences, good practice, your challenges and demands. Your responses will help the project team to better relate to the needs of the course providers/hosting organisations and to conceptualise and design supporting instruments and a joint quality assurance system. The questionnaire will take approximately 15 minutes of your time. If you are willing to share a more detailed view on your experiences, you are also warmly invited to take part in a follow-up interview.

For the KA1 course organizer questionnaire please follow the link here.

The REVEAL group also offers a special incentive for innovative KA1 projects, learning concepts and high quality learning offers both for sending organisations and hosts and/or course providers. As in the past we will select the 5 most innovative projects for My-Vita award to present their approaches and projects on invitation at the European REVEAL conferences in Belgium (on 15th of November 2018) and in Greece, Thessaloniki in Autumn 2019, respectively. Our yearly conferences (carried out since 2013 with approximately 100 European adult education experts) are great opportunities to meet like-minded people, to present the own projects and to discuss and plan new collaborations.
