Thanks to the Erasmus+ (VET) program, Tünde Simkó-Molnár teacher of hairdresser of the Nyíregyházi SZC Wesselényi Miklós Szakgimnáziuma, Szakközépiskolája es Kollégiuma could take part in a traineeship with her students in Portugal.

In the following, she explains that you must never stop learning as a teacher and vocational trainer, and that the experience she acquired how improved her professional competences and strengthened her teaching credentials.

"I am constantly searching for new ways to develop professionally. The biggest challenge for me is to meet my own expectations and to stay authentic.

At Nuno Pereira Hair Studio in Braga, I met such a young and dynamic team who, with their professional approach and innovative activities, are worthy followers of their internationally acclaimed Sam Villa, the Global Artistic Ambassador for Redken.

Due to the development stretching out to several years, Nuno Pereira Hair Studio’s team has gained huge professional knowledge, that is a guarantee for the quality of their services. They work with well-known world brands, one of them is Redken.

Having got to know Redken’s family of products and the professional philosophy of Redken Artists team during our stay in Braga, Portugal, has given to me new impetus as a teacher and a vocational trainer.

Redken is a professional haircare product which is a less known brand in Hungary, although it is the market leader in the USA and it is considered as a brand that is determining in fashion and urban style. The products are used by many well known actors and actresses and thus are nicknamed “Hollywood cosmetics”.

Besides having a vast number of patents, they have an innovative product range that meets almost every need, and accompanied high quality services.

In 2011 Nuno Pereira joined the Redken Artist team, who are committed to teaching the professional hairstylists at various fashion and hair-dressing shows.

Their educational programs can often be found on the web as video material.

The entrepreneurial approach that I had learned made me realize the importance of a personal consultation with our guests because in this way we can get to know their individual expectations, which is a major factor in personalizing our professional skills to their needs.

Their business development culture and marketing activities have proved that even small businesses can become professional.

As a teacher I am absolutely delighted that I could learn together with my students and improve my professional skills and competencies in Braga, Portugal.”
