A number of community and voluntary organisations have come together, with the support of the HSE Social Inclusion Services Cork, to create a new entity called Cork Equal and Sustainable Communities Alliance (CESCA). CESCA works together to address issues of disadvantage in Cork City.

Applications are invited from groups / organisations seeking to promote social inclusion and social justice in Cork City. The key focus will be on collaborative work using once off funding which can be completed within a 12 month timeframe.

Safeguarding Ireland has urged the delivery of Adult Safeguarding Legislation to better protect vulnerable adults and reduce abuse.

In parallel, the organisation also called for the development of a Regulatory Framework for Adult Safeguarding and an independent National Advocacy Service.

Educational institutions and sport and youth associations in the Reykjanes Peninsula (south-west Iceland) are key-stakeholders in the government-led action-plan aimed at strengthening the area, following the bancruptcy of the airline WOW-Air in the spring. As a follow-up of a meeting on labour and educational issues between Education Minister, Ms. Lilja Alferdsdóttir, and local inhabitants in April, a specific task force was established within the Ministry. Its role is to formulate and gain support for an action-plan, built on the vision of the local population and the government.

Eleven T-level colleges will receive a share of £9 million of the T-levels Capital Fund, allowing them to carry out refurbishments and build new classrooms. The first round of funding allows for building work, the second involves the receival of audio and visual equipment. Colleges to receive the highest funding are Barnsley College and Bridgwater & Taunton College.
