We all love stories. Human nature calls for them. Stories tell who we are. Stories create connection with other people. They can cross the barriers of time, past present and future; they can allow us to experience analogies and differences between us and the others, they give space to people to understand deeper meanings of any experience, so in short each story is a chance to learn, discover and understand.
Storytelling (narration) as an educational tool is a powerful way to put people in motion, to support their proactivity and co-operation, to empower them and to help them to identify the learning acquired through their experiences. It can address communication, self-esteem, empowerment, employability, critical thinking and social responsibility. Using willingly and effectively the art of narration as a tool to get a change in people - what we call “transformational storytelling”.
The project: « Stories in Motion” is an Erasmus+ strategic partnership between France, Czech Republic, Estonia and Italy to share and apply storytelling methods for adult education. »
This Erasmus+ strategic partnership is built on the cooperation between France, Czech Republic, Estonia and Italy. During the two years of the project (09/2018 – 08/2020) we share and apply storytelling methods for adult education.
This project aims at exchanging and disseminating approaches and methods based on educational and transformational storytelling for social workers, educators, trainers working on competences development and empowerment of low qualified adults or/and adults in transition period.
The competences we specifically work with low qualified adults are: literacy (oral and written communication), self-esteem, respect of the basis of working culture (punctuality, follow the instructions, etc.).
By people in transition, we mean: people in reconversion, people assessing their workpath and competences acquired, young and new entrepreneurs.
