Experiential learning is the process of learning through experiences. It is defined as learning by doing and as experienced-based learning. It is a powerful tool for adult learners because they gain concrete experiences and reflect on them by comparing the new experiences with their prior learning. We can all agree that the challenge for everyone is to make informed decisions throughout their lives. This concerns both the choice of education and how they go about their career decisions. This can involve thoughtful choices, decisions determined by circumstances, and seizing opportunities. But when we observe these decisions after the fact, we rarely find a strategic coherence, an organised rationality but more often a combination of what people desire for themselves and adaptation to chance. The unexpected often arises.
