Strategic Partnership „Roma HEALTH Care“

The 16 months Strategic Partnership „Roma HEALTH Care“ will be implemented by one partner organisation each from Germany, Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Hungary and Romania.

It aims at: 


  • Analysing the actual situation in the fields

- Health protection

- Cancer prevention

- Vaccinations

- Prevention and treatment of addictions

- Sex education and contraception

- Hygiene

through aimed researches, surveys and interviews in Roma communities of the partner countries;


  • Identifying good practice with European transfer potential;

  • Detecting – together with Roma and Roma organisations – the most urgent needs for action that can be covered with existing resources on the spot as well as targeted activities in the frame of European projects;

  • Developing concepts for according follow-up projects.


In the end, the implementation of those follow-up projects will contribute to:

  • Improving the hygienic situation in the living world of Roma;

  • Improving the health competence of Roma;

  • Initiating the participation in cancer check-ups and vaccinations;

  • Promoting sex education and discussing contraception;

  • Discussing addiction and developing effective prevention measures;

  • Raising the competences of adult educators in the mentioned fields and

  • Improving the interdisciplinary co-operation of relevant stakeholders and civil society organisations.
