THE CHEF ASSISTANT COURSE
The “Chef Assistant Course “ which started on October 17, 2016 at Erdek Public Education Center with a total of 396 hours and 34 modules, is taught to 10 trainees in 30 hours per week.
Two of our trainees are male and eight trainees are female. As our male trainees’ wives are working. So they want to help their wifes in the kitchen. We also have a mother and a daughter in our course. The mother is a 55 year old and retired teacher and her daughter is a 24 year old student with nutritional problems. The purpose they applied to the course is to learn more about healthy nutrition. Other trainees consist of those who already work or aim to work in the food industry. The ages of our trainees is in range of between 30-60 years old. Also, they can get a proper certicifacate for being a chef assistant, which can help them start a business in food industry.
Our course consists of 34 modules. The modules are as follow:
Personal Care, Preparation for Work, HACCP in Food and Beverage business, Dishwashing and Waste of Trash, 1.2 Food Groups, Vegetable Cooking Preparation, Vegetable Garnities, Fond and Basic Soups , Egg Cooking, International Special Soups, Sauces 1,2,3, Potato Garnities, Meat Dishes 1,2,3 Fish, Seafood, Salad and Salad Dressings, Pilafs( Rice) , Macaroni, Pasta Prepared, Pastries Made by Cooking, Pastries Made with Whisking, Pastries Made with Fermentation, Doughs Made with Flapping, Baked Dough, Milf Haylet, Cream Sauce and Syrups
Theoretical information about these modules is given before application, and then application is made within the scope of workshop facilities.
The “ Chef Assistant Course” facilitates the human resources for developing the opportunities and services in food industry in Erdek local area .
