The Limerick Learning Neighbourhoods project will be launched on the 10th of April. This is collaboration of Limerick Community Education Network with a number of partners including Learning Limerick, Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, PAUL Partnership, Community Organisations and Home School Community Liaison Officers.
A Learning Neighbourhood is a community-led partnership of groups, residents, businesses and clubs in a local neighbourhood, linking with each other and creating a range of opportunities and initiatives committed to promoting all types of learning, both informal and formal, to celebrate what is good in their area.
The Learning Neighbourhood Steering Group are working with 4 local neighbourhoods, Southside, Northside, City Centre and St. Mary’s to initiate Learning Neighbourhoods in Limerick.
The Launch will highlight the initial work of the Learning Neighbourhoods, artwork from its school art competition, with entertainment provided by local community groups.
The Launch of Limerick Learning Neighbourhoods is a part of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival and will take place in the Abundant Life building on Henry street on the Wednesday, April 10th between 2pm and 4pm. Attendance is free and all are welcome.
