THON HOTEL BRUSSELS CITY CENTRE - 8 NOVEMBER 2011
On 8 November 2011 around 170 stakeholders and practitioners from all over the EU (and abroad) came together in Brussels to engage in an active, open and participatory process considering topics of high practical relevance for the implementation of the Environmental Liability Directive.
The purpose of the event was to
create and/or foster a community of ELD stakeholders and practitioners who should be enabled to further raise awareness and spread the process in their Member States or communities.
Much of the purpose could have been achieved. However, efforts need to be continued with regard to identifying possible pathways for solutions and testing them in reality. Good implementation of the ELD will thus depend on the continued engagement of the ELD-stakeholder and practitioner community and in particular of the workshop-participants.
