Roll out sustainable cooling system based on liquid ice by 2019

We use refrigerated containers for transportation of fresh products to the stores instead of refrigerated lorries: combined transport saves a lot of transportation kilometres.

At the start of 2016, we introduced a new in-house developed retail appliance, the Liquid Ice Container, LIC for short. We are now already using 800 new LICs.

All containers will be replaced with LICs by the end of 2019. This will result in 58% lower impact on climate change according to the EU's PEF methodology
