Reduce the CO2 emissions generated by the stores throughout the world
Carrefour has pledged to reduce the CO2 emissions generated by its stores throughout the world by 40% between now and 2025 (compared with 2010 levels), and by 70% by 2050. It is taking action at two levels: the primary direct sources of CO2 emissions (energy consumption, use of refrigerants and the transportation of goods), and indirect sources – the carbon footprints of the goods that we sell in particular. Our engagements are based on the main sources of CO2 emissions which are Energy (45%), Refrigerants (45%) and Logistic (10%). We are also involved in engaging our suppliers through the Consumer Goods Forum to use the Science Base Target in order to define a strategy to lower their CO2 emissions.
