  • Efficient products, easy installation: DSS is a fully-integrating and seamless product. Our products can be set up and relocated 95% faster than traditional setups.

The disruptive Dust Shelter product family is the world’s first reusable, convenient and reliable solution for dust sheltering during deconstruction and renovation processes.

Our element-based shelter walls are transparent, compact, fireproof, shockproof, UV-protected and height-adjustable elements that can be joined together without tools. They are eco-innovative, reusable solutions that make building sites simpler, safer and reduce waste generation.

Our products comply with the strictest EU standards and regulations, including the EU directive on ambient air quality and cleaner air (2008/50/EC). Additionally, DS products already comply with coming EU environmental and workplace directives.

What makes us unique

Dust Shelter Solutions provide advanced, economical resource efficiency across the entire process, regarding waste, logistics, set-up and site heating and cooling. Unlike traditional "tarp and tape͟" systems, DS eliminates the use of disposable plastic construction materials – in harmony with new EU directives regarding the reduction in plastic use.

DS modular products are reusable and increase energy and material efficiency, as well as shorten the turnaround of construction projects. The design is based on users' feedback on the key issues of common methodologies for monitoring dust emissions. What are we looking for

We are looking to collaborate with European construction companies, hardware rental companies or other organizations that have a continuous need to compartmentalise and shelter areas in their buildings. Keeping dust, noise and gasses inside, while keeping the weather; heat and cold outside.

Dust Shelter

Dust Shelter was founded by Joni Vehniäinen in 2008

The original idea for the Dust Shelter innovation came from enterpreneur Joni Vehniäinen while working on construction sites.

The innovation was developed in close collaboration with customers and research institutes. During the product development phase, the DS team has grown into a small organisation of nine members.

A real world example of our solution

Dust Shelter’s modular sheltering walls have been used at many sites already, like in the swimming pool construction site to the right. One module can be installed and changing place many times at the same job site, which brings significant savings compared to traditional plastic and tape options. With using DS-walls the internal construction work on this project site was fastened significantly. This what our client told us:

"Our experiences from installing the walls and their protective properties were very positive: temperatures and draft of air can be kept within permitted boundaries, which is very important during the moulding stage. The product installation was quick, with 5 m2 of walls installed by 2 persons within 3-5 minutes. With traditional methods, using plastic and wood, the same would have taken 1 or 2 hours."
