EU Efficient Buildings study: Public consultation opens on draft indicator proposals

A public consultation has just opened on the indicators proposed as part of the European Commission study for the 'development of a common EU framework of indicators for the environmental performance of buildings'.  The consultation takes the form of an online questionnaire which can be completed using the EU Survey tool.

The consultation provides stakeholders with the opportunity to support the development of a common EU framework of core indicators for the environmental performance of buildings.  The need for such a framework was identified in the European Commission's 2014 Communication on Resource Efficiency Opportunities in the Building Sector.  A study was initiated by the European Commission in 2015 to develop an initial framework of core indicators.

The deadline for consultation responses is 7 October 2016

The questionnaire can be accessed at this web location: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/Efficient-Building-EU-Indicators

The consultation focusses on a first draft set of indicators that have been identified by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.  For technical background, reviewing the ‘summary findings and indicator proposals’ document before completing the on-line questionnaire is recommended. All documents in support of the consultation will be published on the project website here: http://susproc.jrc.ec.europa.eu/Efficient_Buildings/documents.html
