Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) is a programme created to help technology developers or ‘proposers’ to gain credibility for their innovative environmental technologies thereby facilitating their market reach. Through ETV, technologies are verified by qualified third parties called "Verification Bodies". Verification Bodies use test results to assess claims about the performance of the technology, and at the end of the process produce a report and a "Statement of Verification" . The statements of verification can be used as evidence for the proposer to add credibility to their product, ensure the technology is scientifically sound for the buyer, and investors, and to improve the market access of the technology.
