Natural capital management accounting seminar for the agri-food sector
As part of the project ‘Aligning Accounting Approaches for Nature’ (Align), a second online seminar will take place on Thursday 30 September 2021, from 15:00h-17:00h CET, focusing on the agri-food sector.
One of the specific objectives of Align is to deliver a natural capital management accounting platform for businesses. This platform will be delivered as a series of seminars, which are open to the wider Community of Interest. Any interested stakeholder can participate. This seminar is the second one of the series on natural capital management accounting.
The objective of the seminar is to facilitate best practice exchange amongst corporate practitioners and relevant stakeholders by:
- Identifying state of the art natural capital management accounting practices that are suitable for integrating environmental impacts and dependencies across the value chain in routine business and economic decision-making processes across all principal sectors of the economy; and
- Establishing a foundation of practice which supports the development and embedding of methods and metrics to measure biodiversity related business impacts and dependencies.
During the first part, speakers (tbc) from the agri-food sector will share real-life applications with the audience, followed by a Q&A session. The second part will be a participant-led dialogue on the implications for the standardisation of approaches and methods facilitated by representatives from the Align Consortium.
Registration is mandatory. Registered participants will receive dial-in details and the link to access the online seminar one week in advance. Registrations will be closed on 30 September, noon.
