Name of organisation: Climate Alliance
Start date and end date of action: 1 December 2003 - 30 November 2004
Summary of the action:
The project aims to create understanding of the basic
dynamics of climate change. It will relate climate change to human behaviour and

it. Special emphasis will be given to young people of 12-18 years. Climate
Alliance, which is a network of European local authorities, will stimulate is
members and other organisations, to organise local exhibition and awareness
raising activities on the subject of climate change. For this purpose it will
produce a CD-Rom (in 6 language versions) which will serve a s a tool for
producing local climate exhibitions.
Objectives:
The overall objective of the action is to raise awareness among European
citizens, particularly the young, on climate change, giving a basic
understanding of the underlying phenomena and indicating ways of contributing to
its solutions by changing attitudes and behaviours.
Deliverables/outputs:
The creation of a CD-Rom which will contain
some 20-30 exhibition posters and a promotional poster ready for digital
printing. It will provide a tool-kit with background information, instructions
on how to produce interactive installations to complement the posters, and
accompanying materials to be used during the exhibition.
The CD-Roms will be
available in 6 versions in 6 different languages, containing the same core
elements plus specific national materials, e.g. on the regional impacts of
climate change.
A first edition of 2000 copies of each version will be
distributed to partners. Furthermore additional institutions and organisations
will be involved through the network and encouraged to produce further versions
for other countries not involved in the project.
