Project: CLARITY - Climate Action Reaching and Teaching the Young

Summary of the action:

The project aims to create understanding of the basic dynamics of climate change. It will relate climate change to human behaviour and demonstrate possible and feasible changes in attitude and behaviour to mitigate it. Special emphasis will be given to young people of 12-18 years. Climate Alliance, which is a network of European local authorities, will stimulate is members and other organisations, to organise local exhibition and awareness raising activities on the subject of climate change. For this purpose it will produce a CD-Rom (in 6 language versions) which will serve a s a tool for producing local climate exhibitions.

Objectives:

The overall objective of the action is to raise awareness among European citizens, particularly the young, on climate change, giving a basic understanding of the underlying phenomena and indicating ways of contributing to its solutions by changing attitudes and behaviours.

Deliverables/outputs:

The creation of a CD-Rom which will contain some 20-30 exhibition posters and a promotional poster ready for digital printing. It will provide a tool-kit with background information, instructions on how to produce interactive installations to complement the posters, and accompanying materials to be used during the exhibition.

The CD-Roms will be available in 6 versions in 6 different languages, containing the same core elements plus specific national materials, e.g. on the regional impacts of climate change.

A first edition of 2000 copies of each version will be distributed to partners. Furthermore additional institutions and organisations will be involved through the network and encouraged to produce further versions for other countries not involved in the project.
