Climate change campaign launch event

The final stage of the European Commission's awareness raising campaign on climate change was launched on World Environment Day, 5 June 2008.
The campaign took place in five Member States – Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria. In all countries the events and activities were supported by national 'climate ambassadors', which included popular weather presenters, musicians and other well-known personalities. CBN-E members such as Tatána Míková (Czech Republic), András Nagy (Hungary) and Tomasz Zubilewicz (Poland) also participated in the launch events.

European Mobility Week

The European Mobility Week, that focuses on sustainable mobility, has started in the European Union in 2002 with the political support of the European Commission, DG Environment. At the European level, three networks of European cities and towns are in charge of the campaign coordination. CBN-E members involvement in the European Mobility week is multifaceted: The Czech member Tatana Mikova held a PowerPoint presentation on climate change in front of two groups of students in different Czech towns. The German members engaged themselves in a campaign called “bicycle in the city”.
