Peter Kardos

Mr. Peter Kardos, Meteorologist

Péter Kardos holds university degree in meteorology (Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Science) and in transport engineering (Budapest University of Technology and Economics). He follows a PhD programme in meteorology at Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Science.

Since 2000, he has worked as an aviation meteorologist at the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, and in 2004 he was appointed head of climate change programme at Energy Club Environmental Association.

Péter Kardos is a foundering member of the Hungarian Meteorologist Association (since 2001) and the Energia Klub Environmental Association (since 2006).

Péter Kardos has experience in educational and awareness raising actions, and he established and runs www.metnet.hu internet site which is one of the biggest thematic meteorology sites in Hungary. Since 2001, he has been a lead manager of regular educational events of Hungarian Amateur Meteorologist Association (50-100 participants, twice a year), and since 2004 he has run seminars and training within the framework of climate change programme at Energy Club, which is a leading NGO dealing with climate change issues in Hungary.

 

Mr János Mika - Hungarian Meteorological Service

Janos Mika has, besides his scientific activity, also been involved in education and popularisation of the climate change issue and has held courses on climate change universities and in the International Post graduate Course in Hydrology (in English) since 1979. With the support of the Hungarian Meteorological Service and the Ministry, he realised two special issues of the 140 years old World of Nature (Természet Világa) and one more in weather prediction, as their guest-editor between 1996 and 2005.

Mr Andras Nagy, State Public Television (MTV-1 and 2)

Andras Nagy is working at the Hungarian Television's daily news background magazine programme as an editor/reporter. His main issues are environment, culture and social affairs. He was originally graduated as an Economist; he's been working in the media for 10 years.

 

András Reisz Mr. András Reisz, Weather Presenter - MTV

András Reisz has studied Meteorology at the Eötvös Lóránd University (ELTE).

He worked in commercial TV as a weather reporter for one year and since 2004, he has  carried out educational work at ELTE and been appointed by public national television (MTV) as a weather reporter.

He is also interested in Synoptic Meteorology (weather forecasting) and Mediameteorology (representing the weather forecasts).

András Reisz follows a PhD programme related to synoptic meteorology.
