Ms. Maxi Biewer, Weather presenter - RTL Television
After A-level and apprenticeship for electronics, Maxi Biewer studied at the "Ernst Busch" School for Acting in East Berlin and
at the Actor's Ensemble of the G.D.R. TV, and she had different roles in theatres in Dessau , Berlin and on tour theatre.
Since 1992, she has been a full time weather presenter at RTL television Germany. During that time thousands of weather reports from the early morning to the main evening news, from the studio to outdoor reports.
In 2007-2008, she is a representative of a national skin awareness campaign about climate change and the effects to our skin.
She also teaches weather / climate issues in schools.

Ms. Inge Niedek, Meteorologist - ZDF
Inge Niedek has a master's degree in meteorology and additional studies in aeronautical engineering (aviation-safety, weather-related aircraft-accidents).
Since 1988, she has been working for ZDF German National Television. She is now a senior weather presenter, also responsible for planning, editing and creating weather broadcast programmes for all news-broadcasts and news-magazines.
Inge Niedek is also a founding member of the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology
where she has held the position as chairman,
vice-president, member of the committee and membership secretary.
She is also a member of the scientific advisory committee of the German Committee for Disaster Reduction.
She is the co-author of the book “Natural Disasters” (in German ) in the series: “Phenomena of the Earth”, by Springer Sciences, 2004.
"I joined the CBN-E because I think weather professionals can play a very important role in communicating climate change to the public. In this context it is also important to exchange views and methods about this communication with people in similar positions, which allows better understanding about different means and ways of communication."

Mr. Dieter Walch, Meteorologist - ZDF
Dieter Walch has a master's degree in Meteorology.
After 8 years as a lecturer for synoptic, aviation and
satellite meteorology, he began working for ZDF in 1981. He is also responsible for planning and creating weather broadcast programmes and procuring meteorological data.
Dieter Walch is also the founding member of International Association of Broadcast Meteorology and member of
its committee .
He is the author of four popular scientific meteorological books,
and he gives lectures about meteorological and climate issues.
