The IPPC Directive

smokeIPPC Review Process

At the end of 2005 the Commission launched in its first IPPC report a review process of the IPPC Directive and related legislation on industrial emissions. The review is based, inter alia, on the outcome of the consultation organised on the basis of the 2003 Commission Communication. A number of studies have been undertaken by the Commission to inform the process. For more information on the work of the IPPC review Advisory Group and the main 10 studies carried out during the review process, see the IPPC Review CIRCABC web site.

A public hearing was organized in May 2007 and public consultation carried out between mid April and mid June 2007. See summary results of the consultation.

As result of two years of IPPC Review Process, the Proposal for a Directive on industrial emissions was adopted in December 2007.
