Reporting under the Aarhus Convention

According to Article 10(2) of the Aarhus Convention, Parties need to regularly report on their implementation of the Convention. Several decisions of the Meeting of the Parties to the Aarhus Convention clarify the format for reporting and the questions that need to be answered in this process. The reporting requirements and the reports on the implementation of the Aarhus Convention by the EU are available, like the reports of all Convention Parties, on the UNECE website - Reporting mechanism.

Fourth Aarhus Implementation Report by the EU

The latest and already 4th Aarhus Implementation Report by the EU is in the process of being finalized. The Directorate-General Environment prepared the draft report in cooperation with relevant departments within the Commission and other institutions. It was made available for public consultation from 19 December 2016 to 28 February 2017. The draft report, the comments and the answers can be found in the links, the latter with the names of persons redacted in accordance with Regulation 45/2001. The final report is still to be adopted by the Commission.
