Webinar on the Deployment of Energy Efficient Mortgages in Europe
The Energy Union Framework Strategy includes energy efficiency as one of its five dimensions and states it is to be considered as an energy source in its own right. The ambitious Paris climate agreement also underlines the importance of energy efficiency. To realise its full potential, public funds will not suffice and private financing will have to be unlocked on a large scale.
This webinar, organised in partnership with the UN Environment Finance Initiative, discussed the use of energy efficient mortgages in Europe. The discussion opened with an introduction by Timothée Noel from the European Commission (DG Energy), which was followed by in-depth presentations from Luca Bertalot (European Mortgage Federation), Ursula Hartenberger and Zsolt Toth (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), Joop Hessels (ABN-AMRO) and Bodo Winkler (Berlin Hyp).
The webinar (11:00-12:30 CET) was of particular interest to banks, investors, building owners and asset managers.
This event was organised by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) as part of the Sustainable Energy Investment Forums contract, funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union.
