Training and network of European Energy Managers (EUREM.NET)

Download PDFDownload PDF
The project aims at expanding the successful "European EnergyManager" training program EUREM to nine further EU countries. The training program developed in the EUREM (2003-2005) project is to be extended and country-specific adaptations need to take place. With the experience from the four first EUREM countries, each of the new countries will organise at least one training course. Within the training each participant develops a concrete project to improve the company's energy performance. New partners secure the sustainability of the training and provide a national anchorage of the training programme. In cooperation of all partners a European-wide certificate "European EnergyManager" is implemented. Support to all energy-relevant questions is offered via a web-based knowledge and exchange platform. This platform is designed to become the central interaction point for all European EnergyManagers.

Results

  • 200 excellent trained EnergyManagers with 200 energy concepts to energy efficient measures: best practice projects with an average reduction potential of 400 MWh/a of energy and 20.000 /a of costs per training participant (in sum: 80.000 MWh/a & 4.000.000 /a)
  • Updated and extended EUREM-standard training material in all languages of the partners involved in the project
  • A web based, EU-wide learning and knowledge platform focussed on the needs of EnergyManagers and a website for the public with description of contents and concept, examples of training material, realised examples of project works, feedback from participants
  • An European certificate "European EnergyManager" for successful graduates of the training program EUREM
  • Training EnergyManager introduced in 13 EU-countries and established nationally

Lessons learned

  • Total energy-saving potential is significantly higher than previously estimated (projected were 200 energy concepts for energy efficient measures: best practice projects with an average reduction potential of 400 MWh/a of energy and 20.000 €/a of costs per training participant (in sum: 80.000 MWh/a & 4.000.000 €/a)
  • The demand from EnergyManagers is very high. The original aim was to qualify 200 EnergyManagers. Within the project 346 EnergyManagers were trained (73 % more participants than estimated!)
